I got tired of feeling increasingly boxed in — not dramatically, just… systemically.
So I started collecting things that made that slightly more difficult.
Nothing revolutionary.
Just small advantages that add up.
This is my list.
Take what’s useful.
And start making yourself slightly more difficult to corner.
\/\ THE LIST /\/
/\
1
\/
ANTI-BLACKOUT DEVICE
(Portable Power Station)
+ Keeps your lights on when the grid gets emotionally unstable.
↳ Jackery Explorer 2000 (if I were uprading, I’d start here)
↳ Expansion Battery Pack (extra capacity helps)
/\
2
\/
THE PERFECT LOAF
(Bread Without Permission)
+ Turns 3 ingredients into 1 less way to be cornered.
/\
3
\/
QUESTIONABLE WATER RESOLVER
(Water Filter — Berkey-style or similar)
+ Removes things you didn’t explicitly agree to drink (fluoride)
+ Turns “uh oh” water into “we’re fine” water
↳ What I use (works well, but you’re paying for the name)
↳ What I would suggest (same function, less branding)
↳ Filters I use (not claiming best — just less enthusiastic pricing)
/\
4
\/
DISAPPEARANCE PLAYBOOK
(Extreme Privacy by Michael Bazzell)
+ Complicates the assumption that you’re easy to track and pin down.
+ Increases the odds system agents move on to someone easier.
/\
5
\/
JUST-BETWEEN-US EMAIL & LOCATION SCRAMBLER
(Proton Mail + VPN)
+ Replaces “free but tracked (Google)” with “paid-for but private (Proton).”
+ Keeps your messages between you and the person you meant to send them to.
+ Lets you appear somewhere else online when it’s useful.
↳ What I use (free version works but paid is what makes switching away from Google realistic)
/\
6
\/
MILDLY INCONVENIENT TO SILENCE DEVICE
(HAM Radio)
+ Communicates over radio waves, which are notoriously harder to interrupt, restrict, or neatly turn off.
+ Worth having, even if it mostly sits there — until it doesn’t
↳ Spare Batteries (you’ll want more than one)
↳ Programming Cable (required if you don’t enjoy programming everything manually — CHIRP helps)
/\
7
\/
IMPRESSIVE WORD NEUTRALIZER
(Black’s Law Dictionary)
+ Makes you slightly harder to be cornered by impressive-sounding words you didn’t agree to.
↳ The version I keep nearby (you’re more likely to actually open it)
Note: Free PDF versions exist (but if it lives on your drive, it might as well not exist)
\/\ THAT’S THE LIST (FOR NOW) /\/
You won’t need all of this — but you’ll need one of them at the exact wrong time.
This isn’t the full list.
Just the one I’ve built so far.
Pick one.
Work it into your life.
Then add another.
That’s how you become… less convenient to corner.

P.S.
Yes — some links go through Amazon.
Yes — Amazon is part of the system.
This is one of those cases where using the system reduces how much you depend on it.
If you buy through them, I may earn a small commission. It helps keep this signal running.
Imperfect? Yes.
Still useful? Also yes.
