\/\ BEGIN TRANSMISSION /\/
You ever heard this one?
“Ignorance of the law is no excuse.”
A real knee-slapper, that one.
Let’s run the numbers.
If you wanted to read every single federal law, regulation, act, and statute Canada has on the books — just to make sure you’re not accidentally illegal…
You’d need 115 years.
That’s 1 hour a day, Monday to Friday, with no holidays, no blink breaks, no accidental death by bureaucratic boredom.
Oh — and that doesn’t count:
— Provincial laws
— Territorial codes
— Firearms regulations
— The Criminal Code
— Case law
— By-laws about your rooster’s bedtime
(There are over 35,000 federal Acts, regulations and statutes. That’s roughly 1,500 Acts × 15,000 words/Act = 22.5 million words, plus 3,000 Regulations at ~30,000 words each = 90 million, and another ~30,000 session laws. At one hour/day, five days/week, you’re staring down 115 years just to read them.)...
So unless you’re a 19-year-old legal prodigy with a flawless memory, zero hobbies, and access to Benjamin Button technology...
You’re probably already a criminal.
But don’t worry.
Even though it would take two lifetimes to understand what’s “legal”…
You’re still expected to follow every single one.
Blindly. Perfectly. Forever.
Or else.
“Sorry, officer — I didn’t realize trading zucchini for goat cheese triggered a CRA investigation.”
“Ignorance is no excuse.”
But ignorance is apparently the default.
Let’s call this what it is:
A system of traps.
One where the rules are buried in Latin. Updated without notice. Contradict themselves weekly. And require a team of lawyers just to decode your chicken coop permit.
It’s not about law.
It’s about leverage.
The more rules you don’t know — the easier it is to pin you to one.
And that’s the glitch.
When the law becomes unknowable…
… compliance takes 115 years.
… breaking it takes one rooster at 6 a.m.
… and oops — you’re a criminal.
If the rules can’t be known…
Then knowing that might be your first real freedom.
Stay dangerous.
Hug your rooster.

P.S.
Reading the law shouldn’t require immortality and Adderall.
P.P.S.
To unsubscribe from these transmissions, simply memorize all 35,000 federal statutes, pass the bar, and win a court case against the Crown.
Otherwise… welcome to the resistance.
🥠 REBEL FORTUNE COOKIE:
“You’re now in violation of something. Probably several somethings.”
\/\ BOOST THE SIGNAL /\/
Pass it on if Latin isn’t your first language.
